Clarence Seedorf delighted with comfortable nature of AC Milan's win over Parma

Milan attacker Clarence Seedorf expressed his satisfaction at the emphatic nature of the side’s 4-0 victory over Parma at San Siro on Saturday evening.

The former Dutch international set the tone for the win by opening the scoring early in the contest, and his effort was added to by a Robinho double and a strike by Antonio Cassano, who turned in a man-of-the-match display.

Speaking to Sky Italia after the match, the veteran said he was pleased to secure such a routine win with Tottenham awaiting in the Champions League in midweek.

He remarked: “I’m happy things went well. It is important for the team that we have recorded this convincing victory, with many goals in a very nice atmosphere, which gives us great charge going forward in the league.

“I think that was also the best way to prepare for the match on Tuesday. I always said that there is great affection between me and the fans.”

Harry Redknapp rules Gareth Bale out of Tottenham's Champions League first-leg tie against AC Milan

Harry Redknapp has ruled Gareth Bale out of Tottenham’s Champions League tie against AC Milan on Tuesday.

The Wales international has not featured for two weeks after being sidelined with a back injury and any recovery in time for Spurs' last-16 first-leg encounter has been written off by Redknapp.

The Tottenham manager has also hinted Peter Crouch could miss the trip to Milan as the striker is suffering a similar problem to Bale.

Rafael van der Vaart, however, is expected to fully recover from a calf injury in time for Tuesday after failing to feature in his side’s 2-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

"Gareth is not too far away. He's not going to be fit, I don't think, for Tuesday, but he's not too bad," said Redknapp.

"The specialists have seen it, he's had an epidural injection. Peter Crouch has had the same problem and he is fine - in fact, his back looked a lot worse on the scan.

"He shouldn't be too long, but Tuesday may be just a bit too soon for him. But Van der Vaart should be okay."

The potential loss of Bale is a major blow for Tottenham’s European ambitions and Redknapp believes his winger would have replicated his performances from the group stage.

"You saw what Gareth did against Inter Milan, when he terrorised them, and that would be in their minds an awful lot, I'm sure,” said Redknapp.

"Everybody in Italy talks about Bale - I went over and watched a game and everyone was asking me: 'Is Bale fit?' He would scare them to death."

Redknapp has praised Tottenham’s form ahead of the match at San Siro, although AC Milan will enter the encounter in positive spirits as Massimiliano Allegri's side come fresh off the back of Saturday’s 4-0 rout over Parma.

"It's great to go there on the back of three [Premier League] victories," he added.

"It's going to be a tough ask to make the top four again this year, there's six teams pushing for it. But I think we've got a good chance."

Tottenham’s latest victory came at the Stadium of Light on Saturday as they came from behind to secure three points over Sunderland.

Niko Kranjcar continued his match-winning trend from last Saturday against Bolton to net Tottenham’s winner after the interval.

Harry Redknapp revealed the Croatian was the subject of a bid from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in the January transfer window, but the Spurs boss was reluctant to let his midfielder move.

"He spends time practising his shooting after training, and it pays off for him - it's not luck,” said Redknapp.

"He works hard and he's got great technique. We had an offer of seven to eight million for him from Werder Bremen in the transfer window, but I didn't want him to leave."

Redknapp appeared angry with centre-back William Gallas after the Frenchman needed to change his boots early in the game and while the defender was on the sidelines, Asamoah Gyan put Sunderland ahead.

"Gallas had an injection in his ankle before the game and they bandaged his ankle. He was in pain and felt his boots were too tight," said Redknapp.

"I wasn't best pleased, and we were lucky we came back and won."

AC Milan star Antonio Cassano after Parma win: If we can maintain this form, nobody can stop us

Man-of-the match feels Rossoneri will win Scudetto if they keep at this level

AC Milan attacker Antonio Cassano believes that if the team can reproduce the form they showed in the win over Parma for the rest of the campaign, then no one will be able to stop the Rossoneri from clinching the Scudetto.

The former Roma and Sampdoria star, who moved to San Siro in December, was imperious in the comfortable victory, scoring a goal and having a hand in two others.

Speaking to Milan Channel after the encounter, the 28-year-old said that if the team can maintain their current standard, they will end the season as league champions.

“If we play like this, then nobody can stand in our way. The most important thing is the victory of the team," he claimed.

“People noticed that we stepped onto the field with the right determination and grit. If we continue to play like this, then nobody can stand in the way. I’m learning at Milan that you have to be 100% all the time, and the objective is always to win.

“If someone makes a mistake, I try to comfort them. After all, they can misplace a pass because they work so hard, whereas I am not exactly the hardest runner in the team.”

Cassano also had praise for strike partner Alexandre Pato, adding: "Pato is the best player under 22 in the world. He has scored 50 goals in 100 games and has popular acclaim, so he needs to stay calm, as he can give Milan that leap up in quality."

AC Milan forward Robinho praises partnership with Antonio Cassano

Brazilian bagged a brace against parma on Saturday

Robinho has revealed his delight at his partnership with Antonio Cassano and insists AC Milan need to turn their attentions to Tottenham.

The Brazilian ace struck twice in the second half to seal a comprehensive win and keep Milan on the march at the top.

"I am really happy as we played a great game to win," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"It was important for us to win. I love playing alongside Cassano as he gave me a great ball to score."

AC Milan are now bracing for their Champions League last 16 encounter with Tottenham and Robinho believes his side are prime candidates to win Serie A.

"Now lets think about Tottenham, we want to win everything. If we carry on doing well then we can win this Scudetto."
