First Brig. Norman Kamaru, the Gorontalo Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officer who gained online fame after the video of him lip-synching and dancing to a Bollywood song went viral on the Internet, will meet with National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo himself.
Afterward, National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bahcrul Alam said Norman would appear on a television show on Thursday evening.
“We have given him permission to appear on the TV show tonight. We will guide policemen with talents especially if their talents can entertain the public,” Anton said.
Norman will reportedly appear on Trans 7's comic show "Bukan Empat Mata."
The Brimob officer admitted he was overwhelmed by the public response to his dancing clip, which has now been viewed more than 800,000 times.
“I have received thousands of text messages and my phone is ringing all the time,” he said, adding that he has also received a lot of interview requests from various media.
“With or without the video, I am still a police officer who has responsibilities,” he said.
